This assignment will require you to identify a current e relevant to your specialization area, and research two policy briefs or policy positions from differing sources, with differing views. For example, when Congress was considering renewing the SNAP program, think-tanks (e.g., Heritage Foundation and Center for American Progress) defined the policy content from a very unique lenses.
You will submit a paper that addresses the following: · Describe the social policy issue that is being presented and summarize how the issue is being framed by each source. · Compare the content of the contrasting position papers, identify key arguments advanced. · Discuss the policy solutions presented (or if none included, provide suggestions). · Indicate how the group supports its recommendations or assertions (anecdote, rhetoric, evidence, etc.). · Address and analyze how the social policy solutions are consistent (or not) with social work values as outlined in the NASW Code of Ethics.
